FIELD: mining and building industries. SUBSTANCE: percussion mechanism has housing, striker, direct stroke chamber, reverse stroke chamber formed by front end face of striker and housing at the beginning of reverse stroke of striker between two flexible plates. Striker is guided by rod stationary secured in rear portion of housing. Direct stroke chamber is formed by sleeve mounted on striker through resilient gasket and stationary piston secured on rod. Striker moves into upper position at the expense of difference of its areas. At the end of striker reverse stroke, force causing deformation of flexible plates exceeds forces, which hold plates in contact and makes reverse stroke chamber open. Pressure in direct stroke chamber accelerates striker, which strikes against front part of housing. When reverse stroke begins, plates 7 and 9 come in contact. EFFECT: improved effectiveness of percussion due to reduced resistance to direct movement of striker. 7 cl, 4 dwg
