FIELD: electric measurements. SUBSTANCE: method and device for metering of electric power has to be the new approach for solving problem of electric power calculated metering. Method concludes in splitting the whole range of changes in electric power to subranges corresponding to values of rates for different levels of power. According to set boundaries of the subranges, the time intervals are specified which are equal to pulse repetition periods which are inversely proportional to power in load. During process of metering the current pulse repetition period is compared with specified time intervals. Result of comparison is presented by number/pulse code, which is added to pulse sequence preset after each period is finished. Device for metering electric power, based upon converting power into pulse frequency and on subsequent addition of the pulses, has associative number/pulse code generator, the second adder and device which indicates degree of rate change. The invention permits to meter electric power with progressive rate. EFFECT: reduced general consumption of power; power-safe techniques; increased efficiency. 2 cl, 3 dwg
