FIELD: physical methods of investigation of materials. SUBSTANCE: surface of investigated sample presents suspension of analyzed matter in glycerin in the form of drop with ratio not more than one part of matter in three parts of glycerine, is subjected to radiation with laser pulse with power density 7·108-108 W/cm2, spectra of positive ions are registered and composition is determined by registered spectra. Invention expands range of analyzed objects rendering it possible to obtain information on molecular composition and character of chemical binding. EFFECT: limit of detection of molecular ions is reduced by one order of magnitude, five-fold increase of reproducibility of results. 1 tbl
