FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: stalks are flattened concurrently with separation of seed portion of harvest. This reduces duration and increases uniformity of converting straw stalks into stock both in strips on the field and in the course of retting at flax primary treating plant. EFFECT: higher efficiency of producing flax stock and increased yield of fibers.
