FIELD: biology and medicine. SUBSTANCE: essence of this method resides in determining human being's adaptivity to shortage of oxygen by arbitrarily holding breath with patient's head immersed in water having temperature by 10 to 20 C lower than ambient temperature, taking electrocardiograms, comparing these, determining latent period and intensity of bradycardia, and then judging resistance to hypoxy based on data obtained. Disclosed method may find application in scientific studies, treatment and prevention of diseases, and occupational selection of workers capable of adequately withstanding shortage of oxygen. EFFECT: quickness and safety in determining individual adaptiveness to shortage of oxygen. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
