FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: piercing mill mandrel has profiled working part 1, nose part 2 connected to part 1 with its cylindrical portion and spheroidal head 3 conjugated with part 2. Mandrel has inner cavity 5 and system of channels 6 and 7, which are open onto surface. Channels outlet openings are disposed at least in two planes: in the vicinity of joint between profiled working part 1 and adjacent to area of conjugating of part 2 and head 3. Channel outlet openings are turned one with respect to the other along arcuate portion extending for 45-90 deg. EFFECT: increased efficiency and enhanced reliability in operation. 3 dwg
