FIELD: metallurgy, foundry to produce castings of oriented structure. SUBSTANCE: ceramic moulds filling with melt portions as crystallization occurs. Any new melt portion is poured in a mould after crystallization front has advanced by a distance equal to 0.5 to 0.95 height of melt column in previous melt portion along mould height after due melt portion has poured in. In this case the volume of the due portion is selected in such a manner as so the mentioned melt column height is within 100 to 400 mm. EFFECT: production of extended castings of oriented structure.
