FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: connected to brake air hose of passenger train end car is air hose with two-wire cable and special head for connecting electric wires and then two-wire cable (with operating and check wires) is connected with dc source (to "+" and "-", respectively) connected to pneumatic column from which compressed air at charging pressure is supplied to passenger train brake line and serviceability of car brake system is determined by instruments on pneumatic column board. Device for implementing offered method has pneumatic columns with electric sockets used to supply compressed air and electric current into passenger train brake line, supply pipeline, air hoses with coupling heads and two-wire cable. Pneumatic columns have instruments to measure voltage and current and pilot lamps connected to two-wire dc circuit. One pilot lamp is placed in room of operator-on-duty of hold yard and other is arranged on pneumatic column board of corresponding holding track. Supply pipeline has pressure regulator to feed compressed air at charging pressure into brake system. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and enlarged operating capabilities. 2 cl, 2 dwg
