FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: automatic parking brakes of each group have summary brake pressure sufficient for reliably holding the passenger train on any branch track of terminal where passenger train is held at follows. First compressed air is bled from brake line after which rods of brake cylinders of cars equipped with automatic parking brakes are flexibly held in position when brake shoes are pressed at designed effort. When removing passenger train from branch track and at all modes of running, except for emergency braking, automatic parking brakes are set in inoperative position. Passenger train holding device has automatic parking brake and automatic brake installed on car. Automatic parking brake has additional cylinder with brake spring whose rod is movably coupled with horizontal lever of automatic brake and end face space is connected with air brake line of car by pipeline through disconnecting valve.
