FIELD: aeration of liquids. SUBSTANCE: aerator has special air intake comprising a casing mounted coaxially relative to solid shaft and made in the form of reversed truncated cone with tangential water intake openings disposed on its upper larger base and intended for swirling liquid flow in casing. Aerator rotor is provided with bow-shaped blades and vanes and has freely rotating ring-shaped rotor for producing hydrodynamic hammer and for breaking air bubbles in case of intensive cavitation. In the course of aerator operation, stable air crater arises inside casing in direction of flow axis while flow of water from upper layers is swirled at casing surface. Aerator drive may be mounted on upper or lower end of shaft. EFFECT: increased saturation of water with air, improved efficiency of aerator and its longer service life. 6 dwg
