FIELD: space technology as electroreaction engines; applied use of plasma accelerators. SUBSTANCE: plasma engine has discharge chamber with anode-gas distibutor, compensator cathode and internal magnetic poles, internal and external magnetic coils located on axial magnetoconducting cores and magnetoconducting circular screens with axial jumbers. Magnetic circuit may be made in form of group of radial jumpers running from rods of internal coil. Axial jumpers of screens are connected by means of radial jumpers and rods of internal and external electromagnetic coils are connected by means of radial rods. Construction makes it possible to fit additional magnetizing coils on radial and axial jumpers of the screens. EFFECT: considerable reduction of calorific intensity of the engine together with its multimode feature, thus enhancing its efficiency and reliability and reducing its mass. 8 cl, 6 dwg
