FIELD: plasma technology. SUBSTANCE: magnetic system of plasma accelerator has magnetic shields 4 and 5 first one of which embraces inner source 9 of MMF and second one - output part of walls of discharge chamber 3. Output butts of magnetic shields are placed with longitudinal gaps with respect to corresponding poles 6 and 7 which values do not exceed half of interpole distance. Output butt of magnetic shield 4 is positioned closer to center surface of accelerating channel than inner pole 7. Output butt of inner wall of discharge chamber has increased thickness. Output butts of walls of discharge chamber are located behind planes in which poles of magnetic system lie. Magnetic shields can be placed with gap relative to magnetic circuit. In this case they are tied together with the aid of jumper on side of anode-gas distributor 1 produced from magnetically soft material. Cathode-compensator 2 is positioned in space 20 of central core 12. Discharge chamber 2, anode 1 and magnetic system can be built symmetric with reference to two mutually perpendicular planes, outer pole 6 and shield 5 with through slits device them into four symmetric parts. Outer sources of mmf are manufactured in the form of four electromagnetic coils 10 placed in circuit of magnetic circuit, each being connected to only one part of outer pole. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of plasma accelerator thanks to optimum topography of magnetic field in discharge chamber, prolonged service life and reduced share of impurities in jet. 6 cl, 4 dwg
