FIELD: space technology. SUBSTANCE: discharge chamber of the plasma accelerator with an anode layer is made up of aligned circular hollow anode and circular cathode enveloping the anode. The anode interior is divided by circular elements, being at anode potential, at least into three sections, each section is connected to the gas distributor through a calibrated orifice. The length of the anode circular elements in the outlet section of the discharge chamber is limited by the surface of the tube of magnetic force in the interpolar gap. EFFECT: enhanced service life and efficiency of the plasma accelerator, and reduced content of erosion products of the cathode material in the accelerated plasma flux due to improvement of its focusing. 1 dwg
