FIELD: electrochemical industry. SUBSTANCE: metal powder coatings are made on compact metal pieces by magnetic pulsed processing. Shell 1, made of highly inflammable dielectric low-ash material, for example, paper, is put on unused part of piece surface embracing simultaneously its operational part 2 (to be covered) so as to keep coaxial location of shell relatively to piece. Powder is placed between shell and covering surface. Arranged assembly is subjected to magnetic pulsed processing with heating of powder and rotation of covering piece. Shell is burnt and low-ash feature of its material provides purity of piece and process. EFFECT: method is used to apply metal powder coatings on compact metal pieces by magnetic pulsed treatment. 1 dwg
