FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: rotary internal combustion engine has stator with inner cylindrical chamber 2, output shaft mounted in stator, two disks with at least two pairs of pistons which are a loose fit on the shaft for forming chambers of varying volume between pistons of different disks and surface of the cylindrical chamber. Besides that, engine is provided with mechanisms for coupling the disks with shaft and locking them with stator (according to the number of disks) with actuating members, intake and exhaust ports made in stator and fuel feed device which is brought in communication with the cylindrical chamber. Engine is provided with dampers which are diametrically opposite in the cylindrical chamber, drive mechanisms kinematically linked with dampers for setting them in motion, sensor showing position of the piston at the end of compression stroke, piston stop moment sensor and sensor showing the moment of passing the intake port which are connected with the control unit input. Circular member is mounted in cylindrical chamber, first solids of revolution are mounted between stator and circular member, the second solids of revolution are mounted on pistons for engagement with circular member. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 4 cl, 5 dwg
