FIELD: rolling and packaging of stalk plant material. SUBSTANCE: baler has compression chamber 3. In the process of binding ready cylindrical bale in compression chamber 3, plant material is preliminarily accumulated in feeding channel 5. Tl do that, flexible web is introduced into feeding channel 5 transversely of it, with free end of web being fastened adjacent to lower wall of channel 5. Plant material is compressed by means of feeding member 6 and compressing roller 8 and delivered to compression chamber. Upon production of cylindrical bale and binding it, bale is discharged from compression chamber 3 through cover 12, web is withdrawn to release accumulated plant mass.
