FIELD: bioengineering, immunotherapy, immunostimulation; production of exopolymer and bifidobacteria. SUBSTANCE: this process for producing extracellular exopolymer possessing immunomodulating properties prescribes cultivating Bifidobacterium infantis Lonqum strain deposited at Paster Institute under identification number 1-885 in appropriate medium and anaerobic conditions, removing microorganisms, extracting exopolymer produced by these microorganisms from culture medium, concentrating and precipitating exopolymer by adding organic solvent, and finally lyophilizing resultant precipitate. Thus obtained exopolymer is capable of producing effect both on cellular and humoral immunity and can be employed as immunomodulating agent for any possible therapeutic purposes. EFFECT: marked versitility. 10 tbl
