SUBSTANCE: hydrogen sulfide-containing gas is oxidized with air oxygen in fluidized layer of alumino-magnesium-vanadium-chrome catalyst containing, wt.-%: chrome oxide 16-18; magnesium oxide 4.0-5.2; vanadium oxide 3.5-4.2, and aluminium oxide - the rest at the ratio H2S:O2 = 0.5-0.51. Oxidation is carried out at 250-300 C. Prepared products are contacted with water at 60-85 C. EFFECT: improved method of sulfur producing. 2 cl, 1 tbl
