A catalytic composition for the treatment of sulfur-containing gases, gases including carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds, including oxide compounds of titanium, aluminum and alkaline earth metal, which includes aluminum silicate with the formula Al2O3⋅2SiO3 and has the following composition, wt. %: aluminum oxide 5.0-50.0, alkaline earth metal compounds 1.0-10.0, aluminum silicate 0.5-3.0, titanium dioxide being the rest. A method for processing sulfur-containing gases, gases including carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds, in the presence of the composition mentioned above is described.

EFFECT: catalytic composition with an optimized porous structure, increased mechanical strength, thermal and hydrothermal stability.
