FIELD: manufacture of constructional materials. SUBSTANCE: process for production of cement clinker in rotary kiln includes such steps as combined grinding of stock components, drying resultant stock, introducing solid fuel into stock in amount of about 70 to 90 % of total mass, roasting stock in cross current involving exhaust gases, charging thus treated stock into rotary kiln for caking, and then combusting about 10 to 30 % of total amount of fuel in rotary kiln at excess air coefficient of 2.0 to 4.0. Disclosed process prescribes roasting stock at temperature of 1360 to 1450 C. EFFECT: marked energy saving; caking time reduced 1.2 to 1.75 times and length of rotary kiln curtailed by 20 to 75 %. 1 tbl
