FIELD: hydraulic technology. SUBSTANCE: fish protecting apparatus has filter, located in water way and made as grating casing, filled with filtering members. Perforated plate by its middle part is fixed inside casing on horizontal shaft. In case of maximum concentration of fish fry in near bottom water layers, cross-section of filter increases from bottom up to surface, ensuring maximum speeds of filtration in upper part of filter. In case increase of concentration of fish fry in upper layers, perforated plate is turned by drive in relation to its axis, providing increase of cross-section of filter in direction of bottom of waterway.
