FIELD: aircraft engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: in controlling aircraft turboprop engine by measuring speed of rotation of the engine and thrust of the engine and shaping a signal for control of angle of propeller blades and fuel flow rate, current value of fuel flow rate and magnitudes of control errors by thrust and speed of rotation at constant conditions of flight in a given time interval are measured. Array of fuel flow rates and speeds of rotation, at which magnitudes of control errors by thrust and speed of rotation fall on an interval of permissible values, is then formed. Minimum fuel flow rate and optimum speed of rotation of the rotor are determined by statistical processing of the array and one forms a correction signal for set-point adjustment of speed of rotation of the rotor.
