FIELD: instrumentation engineering. SUBSTANCE: cutting zone is probed with acoustic signals. Their frequency is set within 106-107 Hz. Amplitudes of these signals under working and decreased feed of tool are measured and wear of tool is estimated by relation of these amplitudes.
