FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment of millimeter and submillimeter ranges. Multifocal open resonator has first mirror with generatrix in the form of system of cofocal ellipses and second mirror with rectilinear generatrix passing through focuses of first mirror. First and second mirrors are made in the form of bodies of revolution about first and second axes oriented in parallel to rectilinear generatrix of profile of second mirror and each located on side of unlike mirror outside volume confined between first and second mirrors. Additional mirror elements which phase center is matched with focus of first mirror nearest to it are mounted on faces of mirrors. Their surface is formed by rotation of their generatrix about first axis. EFFECT: expanded operational capabilities. 4 cl, 4 dwg
