FIELD: catalytic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: silver-containing catalyst contains 1-25 mas. % of silver on carrier. The latter contains aluminium oxide preliminarily mixed with tin compound with atomic ratio of tin to aluminium equally 0.0001-0.1, and cesium compound with atomic ratio of the latter to aluminium equally 0.0001-0.1 and calcined at 1200-1700 C. Silver-containing catalyst may additionally contain alkali promoter - potassium, rubidium or cesium in the amount of 20-1000 mas.part. per 1000000 mas. part. of catalyst. The latter contains fluoride anion, preferably, in the amount of 10-1000 mas.part. per 1 000 000 mas.part. of catalyst. Catalyst is produced by impregnation of preliminarily obtained carrier with solution of silver compound with subsequent reduction of silver compound to silver metal. Preferably used for carrier is anhydrous or hydrated aluminium oxide. Cesium compound is used in form of cesium fluoride, nitrate, chloride or sulfate. Used as tin compound is sulfate of tetra- or bivalent tin. Alkali promoter is used in the amount ensuring settling of said amount in ready made carrier. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 9 cl, 1 tbl
