FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: product: hexylene glycol, empirical formula C6H14O2, conversion is 70-96%, selectivity is 90-99.7%. Reagent 1: diacetone alcohol. Reaction conditions: hydrogenation under hydrogen pressure 3-30 MPa in the presence of Raney nickel catalyst modified with titanium prepared from the alloy of the following composition, wt.-%: Al 34.9-52.6; Ni 44.6-65.0; Ti 0.01-2.8, and impurities - the rest. Process is carried out preferably at 100-120 C, time contact of reaction mixture is 1.5-4 h. Product is used as component of aqueous-emulsion dyes. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 3 cl, 4 tbl
