FIELD: civil engineering. SUBSTANCE: device comprises a base with guide posts, a drive with reduction unit, a gear rack capable of interacting with reduction unit gear, a chain transmission with sprockets, a probe and a measuring means. Device also has a carriage with cross shafts and an additional chain transmission with sprockets, said carriage being capable of moving vertically along guide posts. Both chain transmissions are installed on carriage shafts and united by a crosshead which has a probe-fixing device in the middle. Gear rack is mounted on carriage with the aid of a bracket while reduction unit is immovably installed on base and has a cantilever strip at the top with bosses secured to it on both sides and having holes with pins for immovable fastening of chains. EFFECT: possibility of ground exploration in conditions of limited height. 3 dwg
