FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: A.C.-to-A.C. voltage converter includes transformer 1 with main winding fabricated in the form of two sections 2 and 3 and two tapped windings 4 and 5, two groups of controlled keys. Like leads of each group of controlled keys are tied together. Free leads-outs of first group of controlled keys made up of keys 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 are connected to taps of tapped winding 4. Free leads-out of second group of controlled keys composed of keys 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 are coupled to tapped winding 5. For simplification of design and reduction of transformer capacity free leads-out of sections 2 and 3 are tied together and are connected to tied first output and input leads-out. Second input lead-out is connected to one of taps of tapped winding 4 through semiconductor device 18 and to second lead-out of section 3 through semiconductor device 19 and is coupled to integrated lead-out of second group of controlled keys. Second output lead-out is connected to integrated lead-out of first group of controlled keys and to one of taps of other tapped winding.
