FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: maraging alloy has aluminium and cerium with composition as follows (per cent by weight): 8.0 - 18.0 nickel; 2.0 - 10.0 vanadium; 4.0 - 15.0 cobalt; 2.0 - 10.0 molybdenum; 0.1 - 0.4 aluminium; 0.001 - 0.01 cerium; the balance being iron with the sum of vanadium and molybdenum not higher than 12 per cent by weight.
