FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: roller bearing unit has bearing 1 fitted on axle 2, hubs 5 of fixed case 6, hub 7 of rotating case 8, adjusting bushing 9 with keys 10 and longitudinal grooves, and adjusting race 12 with shoulders 10. Axle 2 has flange for securing to case 3 from one side and lug 4 from the other side. Flange 3 of axle 2 is detached from hub 5 of fixed case 6 and the unit moves to the left. Axle 2 with lugs 4 rotates by 90 deg until the lugs will be in coincident with longitudinal grooves on inner surface of adjusting bushing 9. The bearing unit together with adjusting race 12 with axle 2 is then removed. In so doing adjusting bushing 9 is fixed in bore 14 of hub 5 of fixed case 6. When the bearing unit is set on its place shoulders 13 move adjusting bushing 9 into hub 7 of rotating case 8. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 5 dwg
