FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: pipe is used in the flattened state and in the contracted form for storage of contracted form memory at which its maximum size is lesser that the inner diameter of the existing pipe line. The new pipe is heated throughout its entire legth in its contacted form to flexible state in the longitudinal direction. Then front end of new pipe is inserted into the existing pipe line in the heated flexible state, after which it is rounded off converting its contracted form into tubular form by heating and applying internal pressure simultaneously to flattened and bent pipes. Then new pipe is cooled down for its stabilization in the tubular form. Method is effected with the aid of device for mounting new pipe inside existing pipe line.
