FIELD: quantitative determination of thymol in staring medicinal plant material. SUBSTANCE: method for determination of thymol in starting medicinal plant material includes crushing of plant material and depleting extraction with 96% ethyl alcohol. Added to extract is 10% solution of lead acetate for precipitation of all substances hindering spectrophotometric determination of thymol. Precipitates are filtered off, and filtrate is scanned photometrically at wave length of 272 nm. Content of thymol is calculated with the aid of preliminarily constructed calibrating graph, or with the use of known formulas. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
