FIELD: chemistry; pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical-pharmaceutical industry, namely to a method for quantitative determination of content of rosmarinic acid in peppermint leaves. Method is carried out by extraction of raw material with organic solvents with subsequent sample preparation and determination of optical density by HPLC, wherein extraction of raw material is carried out with ethyl alcohol in concentration of 60% in ratio "raw material-extractant" – 1:50, extraction time – extraction in a boiling water bath for 60 minutes, degree of grinding of raw materials – 2 mm; quantification of rosmarinic acid in peppermint leaves is carried out at wavelength of 330 nm; content of rosmarinic acid X in percentage in absolutely dry raw material is calculated by formula: , where H is the average value of the peak height of rosmarinic acid of the test solution, calculated from the chromatograms of the solution of the test sample; H0 is the average value of the peak of the standard sample solution of rosmarinic acid, calculated from the chromatograms of the solution of the work standard sample of rosmarinic acid; V is extraction volume, ml; V1 is the volume of the introduced sample of the test sample solution, mcl; V0 is the volume of the solution of standard sample of rosmarinic acid, ml; V2 is the volume of the injected sample of the WSS solution of rosmarinic acid, mcl; m is weight of raw material, g; m0 is mass of standard sample of rosmarinic acid, g; W is weight loss during drying of raw material, %.
EFFECT: method described above enables to determine rosmarinic acid in peppermint leaves by HPLC.
