FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: proposed alloy containing manganese, silicon, calcium, magnesium, nickel, carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, iron has additionally barium at the following ratio of components, wt.-%: manganese 30-35; aluminium 15-20; silicon 10-15; barium 3-10; calcium 2-6; magnesium 3-4.5; nickel 1.0-1.5; zinc 1-3; carbon 0.1-0.2; sulfur 0.02-0.007; phosphorus 0.003-0.005, and iron - the rest. Uptake degree of basic alloy element after steel working is increased and represents: uptake of Mn and Si is 96.8-97.8% and 94.5-96.6%, respectively. Desulfurization of worked steel with alloy is 70-80%. Deoxidation degree is increased up to 98.5-99.2%. Mechanical properties of steel were increased. Use of alloy ensures to carry out deoxidation, desulfurization and degassing processes of steel simultaneously. EFFECT: enhanced quality of steel worked with alloy, broadened technology. 4 tbl
