FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: structure has channel 1 formed by apron 2 and abutments and shut-off device in form of gates connected by means of supports and hinges with piers located on the downstream side of the dam on either side of channel 1. Gates 5 are made in form of pontoons connected with system for changing their buoyancy and drives for turning them in horizontal plane about hinges. Each gate 5 is provided with bearing members in form of uprights with pivots and stops which are engageable with plates. In the course of seating gate 5 on apron 2, its weight and weight of support 6 are transferred to uprights through plate and shock-absorbing member. Uprights rest on plates 19 of apron 2 through pivots. When loads (hydrostatic, ice, wave loads, etc.) act on gate 5 it can move within inclination of uprights, thus decreasing the forces exerted by loads in gate 5, support 6 and at points of their connection. EFFECT: enhanced reliability through decreasing dynamic loads on gates and apron. 2 cl, 4 dwg
