FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: gate assembly which consists of door 2 and segment gate 4 interconnected by means of axle 11 is installed in ship passage space 1. Gate 4 is provided with chamber 10 which performs function of buoyancy tank imparting minor negative buoyancy to gate 4. Door 2 is provided with chamber 3 which is brought in communication with water basin through hole 13. When chamber 3 is filled with water, gate 4 and door 2 are immersed i water and are received by recess 14; door 2 fully closes upper part of recess 14. When compressed air is fed to chamber 3, door 2 emerges drawing gate 4, thus letting water from chamber 3 to water basin through hole 13. Ship passage space 1 is closed. EFFECT: reduced usage of material and reduced expanses for building and operation through reduced sizes of recess in plan. 4 cl, 2 dwg
