FIELD: electrical and radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: for electrovacuum machining cathode-ray tube is pumped down, degassed, its cathode is activated and sealed off. Then gas absorber is disintegrated, high-voltage burning-through is conducted and CRT is trained with overheating of cathode and defocusing of electron spot. At initial stage of training screen is illuminated by focused electron beam with value of by feeding nominal accelerating voltages. Illumination time of screen is found from relation given in description of invention. EFFECT: improved machining efficiency.
