FIELD: communication technology. SUBSTANCE: method of transmitting and receiving messages concludes in substitution of operations for forming authentifier A by operations of linear pseudostochastic conversion of any of N sections of message (with random length of section). Formation of authentifier A concludes in cryptographic conversion of any of N sections of message (when length of the section is determined by parameters of standard of coding) followed by "engagement". Sequence of converted sections is coded by linear (n,K + ε) -code which detects errors to get sequence of elements of checking symbols. Then the sequence is converted non-linearly corresponding to secret clue by means of irreversible function f(ch,C). Device has on its transmitting and receiving sides message store units 1, secret clues store units 2 and 15, units 3 and 16 for forming initial values of pseudorandom sequences, units 4 and 17 for forming the first pseudorandom sequence, units 5 and 18 for forming the second pseudorandom sequence, units 6 and 19 for dividing message to sections, multiplication units 7 and 20, addition units 8 and 21, coding units 9 and 22, irreversible conversion units 10 and 23. Device also has on its transmitting side codegramm forming unit 11, transmission unit 12. Device has on its receiving side codegramm receiving unit 13, authentifier storage unit 24, comparison unit 25, unit 26 for issuing message to user.
