FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invalid carriage incorporates frame 1, seat with backrest, armrests, footrest, two driving wheels 2, two driven wheels 3 whose forks 14 are secured in vertical pivots, locking devices 13 each of which includes flanges disposed on pivot of fork 14 of wheel 3 and having vertical openings into which is fitted spring-loaded safety pin. Engagement of locking devices allows rigid interconnection of driven wheels 3 during movement of invalid carriage along straight line and with large turning radii. If rigid interconnection between driven wheels 3 is not needed, one will have to disengage locking devices. EFFECT: more sophisticated design and greater convenience. 2 dwg
