FIELD: medicinal equipment, in particular, equipment used as vehicle for independent movement of patients.

SUBSTANCE: invalid's wheel chair has tubular carcass including back, frame, seat, columns, beams and detachable elbow rests, as well as frame having width greater than that of toilet bowl. Two drive and driven polyethylene wheels are made in the form of pulleys, whose grooves are occupied by V-belt. Drive wheels are made lower than seat. One of drive wheels guides motion by means of lever pivotally put onto wheel pins. Disk fixed on outer wall of drive wheel is equipped with openings for latch pivotally attached to rotating bushing. Rubber insert is positioned between latch and bushing and adapted to provide for shock absorbing of latch. Rubber insert sets latch in operating position. Rotating bushing has slot with three depressions on lower end. Protrusion is adapted for insertion into depressions. Two outer depressions set direction of movement and middle depression provides for neutral position. Ring is pivotally connected to wheel pin through bushing. Ring has lever with upper end terminating in handle, which may be positioned at right angle. Lower end of lever is connected to carrier, which is pivotally coupled through tie-rod to driven wheel fork bracket adapted for guiding wheel movement. Wheel chair seat includes four foldable flaps. Detachable strip for receiving of bucket is positioned between columns.

EFFECT: increased efficiency by allowing wheel chair to be controlled with one hand at any motion of wheel chair and, accordingly, providing independent displacement of wheel chair by patients with restricted physical capabilities.
