FIELD: petrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: the catalyst comprises (wt %): 0.2-1.2 platinum or a mixture of platinum with a promoter having the empirical formula Pt; 50.0-75.0 high- silica ZSM type zeolite in NaPt form with a 20-50% degree of exchange of sodium ions for Pt; and aluminium oxide (the balance up to 100%). A ZSM type high-silica zeolite with a silicate modulus of 25-100 is used. The catalyst comprises as the promoter rhenium or iridium or rhodium, or tungsten or molybdenum in a Pt to promoter weight ratio of (0.5-1.2):1. The aluminium hydroxide paste is mixed with ZSM type zeolite in Na-form. Nitric acid is added and molded into extrudates, dried and calcined in an air carrent at 500 C. The extrudates are immersed into asolution comprising platinum ammiacat and sodium chliride and treated at 90 C for 3 or 4 hours. An excess amount of the solution is poured out. The catalyst is dried, calcined in an air carrent. The properties of the catalyst: the yield of the catalyst 80.5-85.0; the octane number of the C5+ catalysate by the motor method 87.1- 89.0.
