DIVIDING MACHINE FOR CUTTING DIFFRACTION GRATINGS Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: cutting of diffraction gratings. SUBSTANCE: machine has cutting carriage provided with electromagnet disposed onto the frame and tool-holder with cutting tool connected by hinges with cutting carriage; drive of cutting carriage, dividing carriage connected kinematically with cutting carriage; control system which has unit for controlling motion of cutting carriage and electromagnet control unit. Machine is provided with 2(n-1) end switches, where n is number of blanks; the switches are mounted onto the frame in the direction of motion of cutting carriage. Machine also has cutting carriage position pickup mounted onto the carriage for interaction with end switches. Control system has n-1 formers. Outputs of odd end switches are connected with the first inputs of formers and outputs of even end switches are connected with the second inputs of the formers. The third inputs of the formers are connected to output of electromagnet control unit. Outputs of the formers are connected with electromagnet which is mounted under the permanent magnet brought, which is mounted onto tool-holder at the side of the frame. Tool-holder vertical movement damper-restrictor is mounted onto cutting carriage. Machine provides sequent cutting of several diffraction gratings during one working stroke of cutting carriage.
