FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: machine has bed 1, dividing carriage 2, cutting carriage 4, device 10 for controlling intermittent feed of the dividing carriage, clock pulse generator 11, pulse counter 12, storage unit 13, programming unit 14, two comparing circuits 15 and 16, and flip-flop. When the dividing machine is set in operation, generator 11 generates pulses which are fed to counter 12. Information which is accumulated at counter 12 is fed to the storage device 13. Programming device 14 reads information out of storage device 13. For doing so, the permitting signal is fed to programming device 14 from the device 10 for controlling intermittent feed. Programming device 14 calculates instances of time for lowering and lifting the cutter by a given program and generates respective signals which are fed to comparing circuits 15 and 16, which, in turn, generate signals which set the flip-flop 17 into position for controlling electromagnet 5 serving for lifting and lowering cutter 6.
