FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: method comes to measuring acceleration of cut which has left braking position, finding value of actual running resistance to travel of cut basing on value of acceleration, comparing the resistance value with value calculated for hump descent section and, in case of mismatching, introducing correction to calculated value of resistance to cut travel. As a result error in determining resistance to travel of following cuts is decreased, and accuracy is so increased. EFFECT: increased accuracy. 5 dwg, 2 tbl
