FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to track superstructure diagnostics. Proposed method of maintaining tracks of a railway yard consists in measuring speed of every cut on track in sorting yard at control points selected with preset interval. For each section of the path of movement of each cut, data of speeds are sampled in control points of the section, absolute change of squares of speeds of movement of each cut is calculated on each n section. At accumulation of normal distribution of data of absolute changes of speed squares of cuts on each section of track considering value of average total specific resistance to movement of cut in sorting yard the state of track sections with increased level of acceleration and track sections with negative level of acceleration is determined. Based on the results of determining the state of track sections of the marshalling yard in automatic mode, a straightening table is formed to create a program task and its automated transmission to the hardware-software device of the track repair service.

EFFECT: higher level of control over technical state of track superstructure without closing and clearing yard tracks.
