FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: engine has piston 2 received in cylinder 1 and connecting rod 10 secured to gear rack 3 and connected to crankshaft 11. Piston 2 is coupled with gear rack 3 which engages with gear 4. The gear transmits rotation to working shaft 7 through free running mechanism 6. In addition, the engine has a unit for compensation of lateral forces which arise at the top head of connecting rod 10 in operating of crank mechanism and device for compensation of axial and lateral forces which arise in engaging of the rack with gear. Coupling of output shaft 7 of the free running mechanism with flywheel 9 through damping device 8 provides balancing of sharply alternative torque. One or more rollers 5 and gear 4 are axially alined. The gear rack has flat guides for the rollers. EFFECT: enhanced resistance to wear. 6 cl, 1 dwg
