FIELD: materials testing. SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of samples, excitation of radiation in the material under investigation, obtaining and processing spectrograms, and finding resistance to wear by correlation links between parameters. The method is characterized by macro-inhomogeneity parameter of structural components reliable for wear resistance. The wear resistance is determined after processing spectrograms while testing value by F-distribution of mean weighted dispersions of differences in densities for analytical and matrix pairs of spectral lines of these elements. Abrasive resistance of the samples is found by its correlation links to macro- inhomogeneity of elements on reference curvature.
