FIELD: construction of railroads. SUBSTANCE: device has lifting-lowering platform 3 and control means of its motion located in pit. Platform 3 in its lower position overlaps pit to allow passage of vehicles. Train approaching the crossing presses with its wheels pedal of switch 10 to produce signal for switching-on light 11. Light beam is received by receiver 12. When beam is interrupted (vehicle has not stopped in safety zone and crossed line of action of receiver) to produce signal for operation of drive of platform 3, platform is raised. Lowering of platform is effected automatically after the train passes the crossing. Two similar devices are installed on both sides of crossing. Device operates in stand-by mode at the moment the train is approaching the crossing. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 dwg
