FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering, in particular to radiolocation, and can be used on railways (railway) to determine the motion parameters of a locomotive, such as the instantaneous speed, the distance traveled from the beginning of the movement, the number of cross-ties passed and the coordinates of the locomotive at a given time, and control of the traffic situation in front of the locomotive at a distance of up to one or two kilometers, especially when it is possible that emergency situations arise. Technical result is achieved through the use of: short-range radar; four measurement channels (two consecutive for each monorail); high-range-resolution broadband probing signals; optimal processing of reflected signals.

EFFECT: technical result achieved – improving the accuracy and reliability of measurement of motion parameters.
