FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: strain is isolated from soddy podzolic soil in birch grove. Strain is deposited in Microorganism Collection BKM at number CR-332D. Strain of bacterium Pseudomonas maltophilia TC-259 inhibits the growth of different pathogenic fungi. These phytopathogens penetrate into plant through the roots and cause vessel wilting and appearance of root rot in plants. Strain TC-259 which grows in plant rhizosphere can be used as an effective protective agent against these phytopathogens. Strain can be used also as a producer of chitinolytic enzymes and for struggle against plant diseases induced certain phytopathogens. EFFECT: increased effectiveness of isolated bacterial strain. 2 tbl
